Life is simply far too short to be bored or miserable (or both) for such a large portion of the time you spend awake. You deserve to have a job that fulfills you, that taps into your passions, that brings you joy–for the most part, anyway.

As some people say, ‘Choose the job you want and you won’t have to work a single day in your life.’

Today we would like to share with you another beautiful and modest story and another local heroine that comes from Ohrid, the Jerusalem of the Balkans. Another local heroine that follows the steps of her father and continues to work the craft that inherited from him.

19 years ago she made her choice and started creating her Copper Fairy Tale, making jewelry and decorative works from copper and since then she lives and works her dream every day.

Danche says that she is not a person who likes to use a lot of words when she has to describe herself, but lets the deeds speak for her. Her view is that when a person creates something significant, he leaves that work to testify for his identity, origin and tradition, because such modesty is a characteristic of the great people.

Her beginnings in this profession dates back a long time ago. Her love for creating copper products is passed on to her by her father while she was still attending his workshop as a child. Danche remembers that at that time she was enchained by the colors of the copper during his chemical reaction – oxidation, the vivid turquoise shades. The various shades of blue-turquoise have always been a source of inspiration for her.

And looking at the process of obtaining them for her was like a journey through time. She often knows how to ‘play’, as she would say, in making a copper chain with a blue patina. The blue patina jewelry always has a special beauty, evokes memories and keeps souvenirs. Danche still remembers her beginnings almost 20 years ago when with a hammer in her hand, several tools from her father and a piece of copper made her first work “Common grape vine” with the intention to make a decoration for her home. From then until today, she patiently and with a lot of dedication writes her life story, called “The Copper Fairy Tale”.

“Work is my pleasure. “This is a creative thing that fills me personally and makes me happy and satisfied,” says Danche.

She also says that working with copper removes the negative energy and fills the soul. While working in her workshop, there is a sound of a quiet music that gives her a complete enjoyment and motivation for creating something new.

Her creations are her mark and the biggest inspiration, and as her weak point she points out those undiscovered things, which she is constantly looking for.

Danche tells us that the Romans from the 6th to the 3rd century BC used copper lumps as money. In Macedonia, in the ancient times, copper utensils were mostly used in the household, and copper dishes were given as gifts for weddings, which were the most valuable gift. This is something she wants to continue, and thus preserve the tradition of the Macedonian people.

Danche had many clients with different desires and expectations who wanted for her to make for them some specific works from copper and she constantly receives comments about the perfect works she makes and that those are timeless works that deserve respect.

The biggest support for Danche is her family, especially her sons and of course her husband who also helps her in her work when needed.
