5 days 4 nights
Winters in Macedonia can be cold, but they can be cold anywhere in Macedonia is particularly beautiful in winter and it is less crowded so you are able to enjoy the sites without overcrowding. From all the winter activities, snowcat skiing in Macedonia has been quite active in the last few years, mainly because of the natural shape of the mountains which allows an easy access to the peaks by snowcat machine.
While the well-known ski resorts across Europe are overcrowded with free riders from all over the world, freeriding in Macedonia is totally different experience because the region is rural and waiting to be explored. From wide open faces to narrow couloirs and natural pipes, the nature of the terrain gives maximum pleasure to both medium and high experience riders. On a day with good visibility there are no restrictions and basically you can ride everywhere where the ski guides will find good snow and you can do long lines from top to bottom ranging from 500 to 850 vertical meters per line. In bad weather conditions usually the daily agenda is to stay low for amazing forest skiing where the powder stays protected from the wind, and the trees are used as tool for orientation in the fog.
